Fall in August?

I remember when I was a kid. August ment the beginning of fall. The school year started and it meant the Holloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas were that much closer.

As an adult August just ment and another month and a half of summer.

But..........

Not here in Minnesota! Today is August 13th. It is raining and I can see leaves chaning on the trees. It is a cold rain. Not one of those rains you like to play in during the summer. This is one of those slow soaking rains. It makes the day one of those you just want to curl up on the couch witha blanket a cup of coffee and a good book.

It is nice to experence it as an adult again. However that means winter is getting here quicker as well.

Ah, Life as a Northerner. I hope I will get used to it someday.

I hope this post finds you all well.

For those who are wondering. The MENT is a joke between a friend and I.

James, its SO Funny that you posted about the significance of August. I was just thinking about that and acutally had a conversation with Sara and some friends here about how the end of July was always a sad time and the beginning of August I would dread cause it meant the beginning of school. Now - like you said - its just another month of summer - at least for us "southerners".
